The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is committed to providing our community a variety of quality dining choices. SAIC’s dining facilities promote sustainable and healthy eating while also showcasing organic, fair-trade, and local ingredients. Options include grab-n-go items as well as hot entrees and fresh food options including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free.
Cafés are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as snacks and late evening dining.
On-campus dining is found in the following locations:
- The LeRoy Neiman Center, 37 S. Wabash, second floor
- MacLean Center, 112 S. Michigan, 12th?floor
- Columbus Drive Building, 280 S. Columbus Dr., 2nd?floor

Looking for a gift for your student for their birthday? Maybe something to get them through the final push of midterms? Food For Thought is excited to announce that they now offer?celebration cakes?available to students! The 8” cake features multiple options that you can chose from - yellow cake or devil’s food chocolate cake; icing flavors of buttercream, whipped cream, or fudge); choice of filling (optional for additional $10) of fresh strawberries or bananas; choice of décor (congratulations, birthday or no décor).
Allergy and Food Restriction Information: The cake is not vegan or gluten free. It does not contain nuts but will be made in a kitchen where nuts were used.
The order can be completed online with a credit card payment. The orderer chooses a time of day for pick up in the SAIC Neiman Center Café.
